Castor Oil

Castor oil is wonderful! It is derived from the seeds of the castor bean plant. The seeds are harvested and cold pressed to extract the oil.
I first started using it in the soap because it helps create a rich, creamy lather. At that time, I was not aware of how helpful it is in other ways! There is much more to castor oil than I cover here, but this is how it helps you in the products we offer. I suggest researching more if you are curious.
- In soap making, castor oil contributes to a rich, creamy lather and a smooth texture. This enhances the user's experience by creating a soap that feels luxurious on the skin.
- Castor oil is rich in fatty acids, particularly ricinoleic acid, which helps retain moisture, making it a great addition to moisturizing products like soaps and lotions.
- Castor oil has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It can help soothe irritated skin and may assist in reducing inflammation, making it suitable for sensitive skin in lotions.
- Castor oil is known for its ability to deeply penetrate the skin, providing nourishment and conditioning, which is beneficial in both soap and lotion for keeping skin soft and supple.
Over the years it has become clear that when combined with goat milk, which is loaded with vitamins, minerals, and lactic acid, the products become even more hydrating and soothing, making them ideal for nurturing the skin. We use castor oil in our soap, both liquid and bar, as well as the Foot Cream.
